Preserving Fertility with Egg freezing

This video discusses the increase in egg freezing to preserve a woman’s fertility for future family planning. Egg freezing is relatively new and guidelines are still being developed.

I am experiencing more women seeking the use of acupuncture to maximize their response to IVF for egg preservation. These women range in age - from 32 to 42. Their career is growing or not having a partner for family planning in the moment. Women see IVF as a chance to tap their fertility NOW to enhance their change to conceive later in life.

I think egg preservation is something all women should have access to. Women have so much pressure on them - that family building feels like too much in their current life. By completing egg freezing, they can create space in their mind and heart that a family can be planned for in the future.

Many of my patients wish they had this opportunity when they were younger. To grab your egg when they are younger with better quality, is something to do! For many woman, the long hard journey to get healthy eggs could have been different if the technology existed 10 years ago.

For any woman deciding to freeze your eggs, I have one piece of information - complete as many cycles of IVF as possible. Bank as much as you can. If your insurance covers it, take advantage of it and freeze the eggs.

What you do think? Should women freeze their eggs?
